Miracle rice ice face mask

“R-ICE” cubes, home made DiY recipe to give your skin the perfect boost right in the morning.

I’ve been making a face mask made out of a concoction of cooked rice, a royal turmeric paste mix from khan Al saboun and rose water into a puree and storing it into ice cube trays to freeze.

It feels amazing on the skin right in the morning, and has helped me de-puff a bloated face everyday over quarantine and now through normal life as we return back to the new normal.

I have normal to combination skin on my face. A little scarring around my cheeks and the usual under eye puffiness. It has helped in reducing the puffiness drastically over time, keeping my skin fresh and firm.

Here’s the recipe:

  • 1 cup cooked white rice (in mineral water preferably so we can avoid the harsh tap water of the GCC)
Cook till it’s tender, don’t over cook otherwise it would be too sticky as the starch would release out of the rice.
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of khan Al saboun royal turmeric mix
  • 1 cup rose water
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Blend till it’s a nice puree, it should have a little texture to it but smooth to pour.
  • Pour into ice cube trays and you are good to go for a month!

I have used 1 rice ice cube for 1 session, it’s enough to cover my entire face and part of my neck.
Usually start off with my under eyes and then go onto the cheeks in circular motions.

Leave it in for 15 mins till it has dried and then wash it off with water. When I’m rinsing it off, I give it a little scrub and it just seems to leave my skin refreshed and ready to go for the day.

Benefits of the ingredients in this miracle rice ice face mask are many, the khan Al saboun royal turmeric mix paste is an all natural organic and vegan friendly miracle mix for skin, made in Lebanon. It’s used on its on own as a face mask or scrub too however, I found it to have an excellent effect with the rice and rose water.

It contains turmeric, olive oil, coconut oil, flax oil, Sesame oil, honey, almond oil and soda water.

The active ingredient like turmeric has been a good way to brighten skin tone, and firm as well as reduce acne for generations in many beauty DiY’s from Asia. Mixed together with other essential oils as mentioned, it has been a miracle in a jar for my skin.

You can find this amazing royal turmeric mix from khan Al saboun on my shop section of the website, Click Here listed under my favorite beauty products to get your hands on this amazing miracle product! The jar is enough to last for at least 3 months, and if you are using it as part of the rice ice face mask – it will give you an extra mile for your money.

Rice has been a main ingredient in Asian beauty care routine for centuries. Especially rice water which is fermented for skincare and hair care has been a popular practice in Korean, Japanese and Chinese beauty treatments for generations. It is also an active ingredient in a lot of Korean skincare products.

Rice starch contains ferulic acid, an antioxidant that protects the skin ; prevent premature aging.
It has anti-inflammatory properties so it can help reduce redness and inflammation.

Also said to help with an even skin tone and
It contains vitamins B, C, and E along with inositol.
Other than the main ingredient rice, the face mask also contains rose water which has been a hit in the beauty community for years.
Rosewater helps maintain the skin’s pH balance, and also controls excess oil. Removes dirt and impurities.

If you are going to give this a go, make sure you aren’t allergic to any of the ingredients!
I usually make this in a batch and store it. On some days I’d make more and store it in the fridge and freeze it when needed.

If you do end up using this, do let me know how it goes for you!

Don’t forget to take care of yourself so you can take care of others.
