Hair Care wins!

” Treatments, Remedies and Tales “

Here is a never ending topic that everyone is sucked into with a million and one suggestions that are out there for faster or thicker hair growth.

We went through tons of research along with my decade of experience dealing with hair fall from 2 pregnancies’, poor hair care routines and just totally ignoring my hair health till it was severe.

What have I learned through out my haircare journey?
– Hair health and hair growth are two different things.
– Products and care can make your hair look healthy for the time being but it can’t necessarily grow hair out of your scalp.
– Avoiding heat can speed up the process of healing hair follicles.
– Having a hair routine no matter what type of hair you have whether it is any sort of curly, wavy or straight type. It is important to find products that can work with your hair type to establish a go to routine.
– We must try our best to wash our hair in cold water and use a shower filter.
– Cold water works best to help our hair.
– Use a soft towel to dry your hair.

In order for you to grow hair out of your scalp, you need to stimulate hair growth.
Stimulation can be done through a number of ways which are non-invasive and invasive at clinics along with few home treatments such as derma rollers.
Hair health begins from within just as much as skin care and keratin is an important molecule, a protein that helps with cell turnover and retaining hydration. Found in a list of different foods as well as sold in a supplement form to be taken.
Alongside hair routines with oils and serums, it is important not to shower with hot water, make sure we use a shower filter to have clean water for hair care.
A healthy habit of visiting your derma when you can to have a diagnosis on any other health concerns that can cause hair loss.
Hair growth can also differ from person to person and 90% of the time it is our genetics that decide on how much hair you have and how much you will end up with at a later stage as you age.
Eliminating Heat out of your routine, for instance air drying your hair rather than blow drying it, styling it straight or curly through heated techniques can really weaken your hair shaft and cause breakage and hair fall. So it’s best to avoid heat as much as possible, unless it’s deep conditioning with a heat cap.
As we welcome the new hair care era where we pay attention to labels, ingredients and stay away from free radicals, chemicals, parabens and mineral oil, it is necessary to adapt to products that can gently cleanse and nourish the hair without the unnecessary harsh chemicals.

We have done some extensive research below and put together few things for you to look out for…

HAIR VITAMINS, is it worth the buy?

There are many reasons why you might want to consider supporting your hair’s health with a few extra vitamins. Given that we live in a world full of Free radicals and oxidation effecting our anti-aging process. Our food has a decreasing amount of nutrients progressively over the years. As well as, the water that is supplied to taps and showers in the GCC really has a lot junk effecting our overall skin and hair health.
Most importantly, vitamins and minerals are absolutely essential for numerous bodily functions – including growing new cells such as your hair follicles.
A number of Top dermatologists in the US and world wide recommend adding healthy doses of :
Antioxidants, collagen, Omega 3 fatty acids, Vitamin A, D and C.
There is very little scientific evidence to prove that vitamins for hair growth actually work. However, severe shortage of biotin, zinc, niacin and iron may lead to hair loss in circumstances.

vitamin D, E and B complex vitamins are thought to support hair growth, although there is no evidence which directly supports Hair growth and thickness

Getting a daily supply of nutrients is a good thing but there are some vitamins and minerals, when too much is taken it could cause hair loss.
There are 4 main vitamins that will cause hair loss when taken in excess amounts.
The following vitamins are prime examples of those that are good for hair health when taken in moderation. However, if you increase the intake and are taking more than the recommended amount, it could cause hair loss called Telogen Effluvium. Biotin – 50mcg daily, Selenium – 55 mcg daily, Vitamin A – 800 mcg daily, Zinc – 10 mcg daily.

We say if your able to take on the supplements as a recommended dosage then it is worth the try.

  1. Hair Teas and Oils

Tea tree oil and olive oil are great combination to make the hair healthier and promotes hair growth. Olive oil is nourishing oil in nature hence the scalp gets thoroughly nourished. Moreover, this natural remedy will also cure the scalp infections and any other reason that may lead to scalp pores blockage

Tea tree oil has the ability to transform your hair, starting at the scalp. Its antimicrobial, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties make it a potent treatment for dandruff, improving overall scalp health. Healthy hair and new growth start at the scalp, so improving your scalp health should be the first step in any attempt to increase hair growth.

Let us say, Coconut oil for dry hair.
Coconut oil is rich in hydrating omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E, which is known to add shine to hair and is essential for scalp, Avocado oil, Almond Oil and rose Mary oil as well helps promote hair health.

Recently, tiktok has been taken over with the “Rosemary hair tea rinse” which is a simple boiled rose Mary water, cooled down and used as a last step rinse in the hair wash routine.

Women have sworn that it has drastically changed their hair journey and increased hair growth.
I have personally tried the Rose Mary water rinse.
successfully using it 3 times a week for an entire month.
You simple boil rosemary stems with the ratio of 1 cup of water for 4 pcs of rosemary stems. Bring water to a boil and let rosemary leaves stew for a lil bit till you let it cool and put it away in a hair spray bottle.
Use it to rinse your hair in the shower after shampoo/conditioner and let it set in and dry. style as usual and you are done. You can also replace the rosemary water rinse to rosemary oil twice a week as a oil treatment for your hair before wash days. like a “pre-poo” yup that’s what it’s called in hair terminology.
Not sure if I can see a difference yet in my hair since doing the rinse but I’ll keep going for a month longer and report back to you guys on how it is going. Make sure to follow me on Tiktok  to stay up to date.

What is your “go to” hair care treatments or products?

– Are you a fan of all thing natural when it comes to haircare or do you love your mesotherapy at the hair clinic?
– One thing is for sure that we have to normalize hair fall/loss as part of growing older and in some cases for other reasons we were handed. We should enjoy the journey along the way.

We are a fan of both natural ingredients and scientific mixtures at the hair clinics.
A joy to find a balance in the middle somewhere, that would help us achieve our personal hair goals!

BOTOX IN A BOTTLE??

Argireline is a topical peptide (also popularly reffered to as “Botox in a Bottle”) that reportedly reduces wrinkles and plumps skin. When applied topically, Argireline can reduce facial wrinkles and fine lines. With results like that, it’s easy to see why this peptide is a hit.

What Is Argireline?

Argireline is a peptide – a short chain of amino acids – that is one small fragment of a protein called SNAP-25. “If a full protein is a chain-link necklace, a peptide is just a few links of that chain or a fragment of a protein,” explains Blair Murphy-Rose, M.D., FAAD Board-certified cosmetic dermatologist practicing in New York City and the Hamptons.

How To Add Argireline to Your Routine

Once you’ve done a patch test to check for any allergic reactions, add Argireline into your skincare routine in both the morning and evening. Apply Argireline to wrinkle-prone or troublesome spots (particularly the forehead or near the eyes) twice per day and stick with it for at least 30 days for best results.

ORGANIC BANANA PEEL?

You may want to know if this is a common myth or truth?
Does it really work to lather up a peel of a banana onto your bare skin?
In some parts of the world, they have been using this method from generations.
After eating a banana, don’t throw the peel away, instead rub it in circular motions on bare skin. That’s it! So easy!
People who suffer from acne or the occasional pimple can benefit greatly from rubbing a banana peel on their face.
Some use it to brighten skin and reduce wrinkles placing a banana peel on closed eyes to reduce puffiness, using a banana peel as a moisturizer to hydrate skin rubbing the peel on acne scars to help them fade. Concludes this is definitely not a myth for some.
Banana peel has properties like Minerals and Nutrients, Phytates, Oxalates etc.

K BEAUTY, The hype is real long lasting too.

Here’s Everything You Need to Know. From sleeping packs to treatment ampoules, we’re here to demystify the world of K-Beauty (that’s Korean beauty to you and me).

Essentially a name to categorize the Korean influence upon our own skincare routines and the epic product imports from the country itself, K-Beauty is the secret to looking as luminous as is humanly possible.

While K-Beauty is no longer a new concept to us, its typically kitschy aesthetic kept it confined to teenage beauty cabinets for a few years. But now, Korean skincare has truly come of age, with the likes of Cult Beauty.

To us, it’s not just a hype! I have been using K Beauty products for years. Seeing great results with exfoliates, toners, cleansers and serums. Who can forget the love of getting SHEET faced!? we certainly cant! it’s just the best feeling ever after a long day to plop on a hydrating soothing, cooling sheet mask.
Arshi, our team member just recently started using K-beauty products recommended by Layla.
“I could see a significant difference in my skin overall, It leaves my skin smooth, hydrated and clean. It has been a part of my Daily Morning Skincare Routine.” said arshi.
Though k-beauty routines typically consists of 10 steps, we can incorporate as much or as lil as to our skin needs.

Here are few of the steps in a brief:

Double cleanse – Clean = pristine. Your first, oil-based, cleanser (yes, there will be two), is used to dissolve make-up and grime that sits on the surface of your skin, allowing your second cleanse (usually a foam or stick) to tackle pollution and impurities from within the pores.

Exfoliate – Less is more for the Korean woman, so you won’t find any hardcore daily exfoliants on the K-Beauty aisles. Some industry experts recommend exfoliating every other day, while others suggest as little as once a month. Twice a week, with a gentle AHA-soaked pad, is a happy medium for most.

Tone – To remove any left-over cleansing residue, and prep the skin for the next steps.

Treatment essence – This is likely the point where you’ll start scratching your head. However, essence is actually less mythical than it sounds – these watery formulas are simply a lighter version of a serum, used to prep your skin for the products that follow.

Treatments – Ok, this one’s easy. Slather on your favorite boosters, serums and ampoules to clarify, brighten, or simply hydrate with concentrated active ingredients. Typically, K-Beauty treatments are highly results-focused, holding up to ingredients-list scrutiny with ease.

Sheet mask – We’re not suggesting you reach for a sheet mask every day, but they are a great weekly treat to help infuse more moisture into your skin, leading to that elusive glass-skin glow.

Everything you need to know about microneedling.

Everything you need to know about microneedling with a derma roller at home.
Microneedling Can be done with a tool called derma roller or derma pen at skin clinics. Make sure to visit your dermatologist before you decide to do it.
If you know your skin like me for many years then it is safe to do it at home once in awhile.

Microneedling is a method use to renew skin cells by puncturing the skin slightly.
The goal is to achieve a radiant base after “healing and peeling” for a week. (5-7 days depending on person to person)
It is widely known to use “microneedling” to lessen stretch marks on the body, stimulate hair growth on scalp, reduce hyperpigmentation, scarring etc.
If you are going to do it at home make sure to do it safely.
Do not do it if you have acne or very acne prone skin.

– step 1 sterilize and sanitize
– step 2 be prepared
– step 3 before and aftercare
– step 4 what can you add while your rolling?
Step 5 where else can you roll?
Step 6 how to do it?
Step 7 sanitize and store away
Step 8 results after a week.

VIBRANT EYES  WITH GRAPHIC LINER OR EYESHADOWS

The warmer months call for lightweight, colorful, and non-boring makeup looks that won’t melt away. For the long-awaited summer of 2021, A lit-from-within approach to your makeup look is all the rage this summer. With an array of graphic liner looks with all the colors of the rainbow to using catchy shadows to make your eyes the attention.

According to celebrity makeup artist Keita Moore, skin is in and lightweight coverage is at the forefront of this season’s trends. “It makes sense that having to wear a mask has minimized full coverage makeup looks. People have been taking better care of their skin and are reaching for lighter coverage,” Moore says.

Yes, it’s time to get excited about using color again with your eyes as your canvas.

BOLD LIP COLOR & “popsicle/Ombre” Lips

It makes sense that following a year where half of our faces were hidden, one might say—that people are, once again, reaching for lipstick. As Diane von Furstenberg once said, “lipstick is to the face as punctuation is to a sentence.” However, lipstick isn’t just about making a statement—the story of lipstick is also the story of transformation

Whatever your reasons for trying out a new lip shade—whether you want a colorful pick-me-up or a look that turns heads—below are four striking lip trends to consider as we emerge from our cocoons. From a splashy orange lip color to the more muted hue of a stain. The Ombre lips are making a come back with a “popsicle” version. With a color combo of dark liner, beige/nude lip shade and a pop of color in the center smudged all together to form an effect.

“TRANSPARENT MAKEUP”
it is the beauty trend of 2021 is all about embracing your skin’s natural texture. It’s okay for your pores, scars, blemishes and discoloration to peek through your makeup! Think of this trend as an update to the no-makeup, makeup look.
This trend comes as no surprise considering we’ve been nursing maskne for months and trying to feel good in our skin while doing as little as possible to our faces.
The heart of this trend is enhancing skin’s luminosity, concealing skin’s texture or imperfections. Instead of reaching for a heavy-duty foundation, use a color-correcting concealer to cancel out any redness or discoloration.
Conceal only where needed and use a light based cream powder to pat on the skin.

“REVERSE CATEYE

Grab your black liquid liners, folks, because the classic “KOHL” “KAJAL” style is back for 2021 in a renamed version as “reverse cat eye” This look is nothing more than soft eye shadows on top and a bold kohl liner smudged under the water line enhancing the inner corner and outer corner in a thin cat eye. The result is a smoky, sultry undereye that wings out at the corner to create a sexy feline shape.
As we formerly knew it as “Arabic or desi” make up or perhaps even the Skater girl grunge look from the millennium. Pair it with bold brows, extra-long lashes, and neutral-colored matte lips for a look that’s glam but still easy going. We refuse to call it the reverse cat eye though.

GLOSSY LIPS / EYES

Firstly, glossy lips are timeless. It looks healthy, glowing and just drop-dead gorgeous on anybody. It can look natural or glam – it’s very versatile. You can wear it with no makeup at all or with a full face. You can add to an already stunning lip color by swiping a clear gloss on top, or wear it as a lip look on its own by choosing a tinted or colored gloss. The options are endless and that’s what makes the glossy lip such an appealing beauty trend.

With the face mask taking over our life, the glossy lips has taken a back seat for a lil while. Whether it is satin or super glossy, lip-gloss is the one of the top items this fall. “It can be worn alone, as a base, or as a topper to show off your lips while locking in hydration and moisture

Gloss is slowly making a comeback on the lids and yes on the lips (perhaps we have the Y2K trend to thank for it), but this season it’s all about subtle satiny lips that add just the right amount of shine.
